About

Why is this blog called “morningstarsong”? It comes from the biblical book of Job, chapter 38. After God allows Job to go through a terrible time of testing along with some not-so-helpful advice from friends, Job finally gets a chance to ask God why. Instead of answering Job’s questions, God basically tells him “I am God and you are not.” While it’s not the answer I would want, the imagery is powerful – I love the vision of a powerful God creating the world while the morning stars provide celestial music:

“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much. Do you know how its dimensions were determined, and who did the surveying? What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?” – Job 38:4-7
